Kill Hubris x DODO Case Giveaway

 

Now this is too dope. Kill Hubris recently got DODO Case to produce a very small, super exclusive run of these iPad 2/3/4 cases. The KH blog says these were produced for the Kill Hubris inner circle, which I apparently got kicked out of without notice. Turns out there is one left over, and rather than sell it, Kill Hubris is GIVING IT AWAY! (see below)

 

Here is how you get your hands on this amazing case:

1. Follow Kill Hubris on Instagram (@killhubris); and
2. Like at least one of the “Who Wants One?” contest announcement pics posted there daily, beginning today.

 All entrants’ names will go into a hat and the winner will be drawn and announced the evening of Friday, June 21st. Winner will then have 24 hours to respond with contact info or another name will be drawn.

New Pickup: Nike Air Max 90 Engineered Mesh

I dropped by one of my favorite shops last week trying (unsuccessfully) to put eyes on the Lebron X Prisms. My visit wasn’t a complete failure, though, because I got to inspect the new Infrared Air Max 90 Engineered Mesh instead. Any Infrared or Volt catches my eye (and usually my hip pocket), and, yes, a pair came to live at my house.

Curious as to how they compared with my (unworn) Hyperfuses, one of the first things I did when I got home was put on one of each. I found the softer, more flexible Engineered Mesh to be more comfortable straight out of the box.

The slightly wider and more squared-off toe box helps in this regard, I think.

Despite technology, I don't buy any retro silhouette to use as a performance shoe, so all I was looking for out of these was comfort. Verdict? Frankly, I wasn't feeling the oversized, 80's-replica-football-jersey perforations in early blog pics. After trying them on and walking around in them for a bit? I'm in a much more forgiving mood and looking for another pair to hold in reserve.

This Nike Sportswear video is worth checking out for the slickly-integrated photos of each Max announced to feature Engineered Mesh (1, 90, 95, 97, and 2013):



I haven't seen any of the others retro silhouettes in-person but:

a) The 1 looks intriguing. 

b) Pessimistically withholding judgment on the 95 until I can see it in person. The see-through lines feel incongruous (and kind of look like a horizontally-filled-in Scantron). That and the lack of color gradient have me classifying this one as a "Probable Pass". 

c) Looking forward to the 97. It usually fits narrow on me so any upper flexibility gained from the Engineered Mesh will be quite welcome.

I've been waiting a LONG time for this post. It's finally here! The Kill Hubris Art House tee designed by The Good Child. Every year Kill Hubris will be featuring a different artist to design a tee for the Art House series. First up was Dallas Texas' own Heather Abbott aka The Good Child.

Ok, vacation is over. The homie Sam posted a teaser picture of the soon to be released Art  House tee. This tee is nuts. Not only does it give Kill Hubris a dope new feel, it is also designed by Heather Abbott. .....Who's Heather Abbott?!

I've been going crazy waiting on this tee to drop. Kill Hubris is introducing a series called Art House to the brand. I've seen some sketches of the tee and have had all the details for a while now, I can't wait to see the final product. The hang tag, pictured above, gives KH a fresh look on it's own. The tee will be ready for release mid March and will be a part of a limited run.

Kill Hubris T-Shirt Review

Yesterday was a great mail day for me. No bills plus this Kill Hubris Three tee from Sam and Nathan to review, perfect. Now I didn't go to tee shirt college or fashion school, but I do know what I like. Kill Hubris were kind enough to send me the tee of my prefrence for this review. I chose this one because I like the clean and soft look of the tee. The color of the tee is one of my favorites and works really well with the design.

Texas based company Kill Hubris is next up in the "Have You Heard Of" series. I came across this brand, like a lot of the other brands, on Twitter. These guys are active in the social media scene and always running little sales and giving out a tee or two through Twitter. (So it pays to follow these dudes) Sam and Nathan are just getting started but I like their style and I am expecting to see them around for a while.
