Have you (Re)Heard of...All Hail Clothing?

Hi all!

And welcome to another edition of “Have you heard of…?” Only this one is a little different and here’s why…When we first met this pair of t-shirt making brothers a while back, they went by the brand name of All Hail the Queen Apparel. Well they are back, revamped and ready to roll with a new look and a new name (kinda). Born and brought to life in the Windy City, this brand is steeped in a tradition of strong core values that are embodied in each of their shirts through a combination of classic elements, crisp designs, and varying color ways offered. “Your T-shirt is an article of clothing, but treat your shirt as a symbol, treat your shirt as an expression, but for the most part, treat your shirt as a belief.” PREACH! So without further a due…Hear ye, hear ye, as I officially introduce or rather reintroduce you all to All Hail Clothing.

Red rover, red rover, let All Hail come over…

Have you heard of...De-Jé?

Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing well and in the mood for another edition of “Have you heard of..?” In this edition I want you all to meet Tiffany and her brand, De-Jé (pronounced “day-jay”), everyone say “Hi Tiffany!” (Hiiiiii Tiiiffaannnnyyy!) Inspired by significant cultural symbols like sugar skulls and Dia de los Muertos, De-Jé is a funky, up and coming brand, right out of the Big Apple that utilizes bright, bold colors, sharp graphics and youthful swag to display creativity, love of culture and most importantly, individuality. So without further delay…

Have you heard of...SinStar?

Hi all,

And welcome to another edition of “Have you heard of...?” In this edition, I am really excited to introduce you all to Sam Bell and Ryan Stripe, co-owners and founders of SinStar, a punk inspired brand, born and brought to life in Essex, UK, that infuses modern style, brazen grittiness and the anti-authority essence so beloved and outwardly expressed in the traditional punk attitude. I came upon this brand when I received an email from Jay (shout out to ya!) describing his friends’ brand and providing an opportunity to get to know it and them better. Seeing as this is part of what I do here, as a writer for WORD, I answered the knock, knock, knocking of opportunity and as always, delved into a research frenzy looking for as much information about the brand as I could. After searching, reading, and searching some more, two words came to mind to describe these guys...ROCK STARS!!! No really, they are, these guys are a band too! I dropped an email to Jay to let him know I was interested in bringing the SinStar brand to you guys and thus an interview was born. Not to mention the guys sweetened the whole collaboration by sending me an awesome t-shirt from their current collection, which by the way is on sale now! I have to admit this brand is different from others that I’ve interviewed before but I think you all will enjoy getting to know them as much as I have. So without further delay I bring you this edition of “Have you heard of...?” featuring the guys from SinStar Clothing. (And don’t worry if you start reading their answers with an accent, I did! *wink*)

Have you heard of...Captain Greedi?

Hi all,

I’mmmm baaacckkk, with another edition of “Have you heard of…?” Remember last week, when we all met the first brand competing for Word of Mouth’s first ad space competition; well today I bring you Captain Greedi, the second brand in the competition. As I perused the Captain Greedi site, the first thing I saw was a yacht next to the logo, my reaction? Ummm, it went something like, “I’m on a boat! I’m on a boat!  Everybody look at me…” Just kidding, but it definitely set a precedent for a unique trip through the site that included many insights into what goes on behind the scenes and in the daily development of this brand. So without further a due, I bring you a new edition of “Have you heard of…?” where I am pleased to introduce you all to Jonathan and his Dallas based brand, Captain Greedi.

Here we go, here we go…

Have you heard of...faceOFfame?

Hi all,

So Bobby had this great idea…why not post another edition of “Have you heard of…?” but interview the two brands that are competing for the Word of Mouth’s first ad space competition. “What a stellar idea,” I thought as I began to compile Intel on the first brand I was to interview. In doing this I found a brand that had me both waxing nostalgic of childhood memories (TURTLE POWER!) and wanting to RIOT at the same time! In this edition of “Have you heard of…?” I am excited to introduce you all to Aaron and faceOFfame, his home grown brand, hailing from San Antonio, Texas. Sit back, relax and get to know Aaron and his brand.

Ready, Set, Go…

Have you heard of....MYO Clothing?

Hi all,

So I’ve just been in touch with the owner and founder of a pretty dope, up and coming new brand, called MYO Clothing. He allowed me passage into his mental laboratory to bring you the 4-1-1 on just who he is and what his brand is all about. (Not to mention he is a fellow Chicago Bulls fan, oh yeah, we talked basketball for a bit.) Therefore without further delay, I bring you this edition of “Have you heard of…” featuring Ft. Worth based and Texas grown, MYO Clothing.

And away we go...

Have you heard of..... Minus61?

It's been a busy week. On top of the contests this week I am back on track with the interviews as well. I've been talking to the homie Ed French who runs Minus61 based out of the UK. Is it just me or is the UK killing it right now? Ed's brand is fairly new but Ed himself isn't new to design. He has been working on his brand for quite some time and he does all the designs himself. I am honored to have the opportunity to chat it up with such a talented artist and all around humble dude. Here is how our talk went, oh and we also did "this or that"...

Have you heard of..... Lake and Chapel?

Have you heard of......Lake and Chapel?! First off, have you heard of my interview segment of Word of Mouth called "Have You Heard Of....?" Since Kixpo I've gained some new followers and the hits on this page have been up (humble brag). So, here is the deal, I usually get in contact with an indie t-shirt brand owner and interview them about their brand, inspiration and all sorts of other random things that I can think of. Then I post the interview on this page to spread the word about their awesome brand.

Have you heard of..... Live Life Every Day?

Back again with another installment of everyone's favorite blog article "Have You Heard Of!" (*crowd cheers and claps* yeeaaaaahh woooooooo!!) Today we have an interview with Jersey native Jason Rivera, founder of Live Life Every Day. This brand's mission goes beyond selling tees. Jason wants to inspire the world with his positive messages. He is starting by making tees and caps, then using every resource he can to spread the word. I talked with him over the weekend about his message, music and those pesky rumors about his Jersey Shore auditions. Enjoy the interview....

Have you heard of..... Kill Hubris?

Texas based company Kill Hubris is next up in the "Have You Heard Of" series. I came across this brand, like a lot of the other brands, on Twitter. These guys are active in the social media scene and always running little sales and giving out a tee or two through Twitter. (So it pays to follow these dudes) Sam and Nathan are just getting started but I like their style and I am expecting to see them around for a while. I've been talking back and forth with them for a couple of weeks and finally set up an interview with them. Here is how the talk went....

Have you heard of..... PXL CLOTHING?

Today's HAVE YOU HEARD OF interview features a UK artist by the name of Dacre. Dacre is a superstar in his hood and has worked with many big artists and celebrities. I'll let him tell you about that though. He is a busy man, running his line and RWD Magazine. We talked a little about that and we also did a quick round of "this or that." To get the full effect of the talk please read all my questions with a Texan accent and all his answers with a London accent.... Hit the Jump for the interview.

Have you heard of..... DREAM GOLD?

Chances are you have not heard of Dream Gold… yet. That’s only because they are just getting started. Serji and Taira are a couple out of Toronto, ON who take pride in perfection. These two were smart enough (and patient enough) to find the perfect tee for their brand, even though they had a hook up on another brand of tees. Smart move. Read their story here.

I had a chance to talk to the couple about their artistic street wear tees, the challenges of running a brand, and a quick round of "this or that", here is how that talk went:

How long had you been working on The Good Child brand before you launched it?

Have you heard of..... Docor Hazmat?

I will be interviewing a few of my favorite indie brands in a segment called "Have you heard of..."
First up is creator of one of the coolest lines I've seen this year: DOCTOR HAZMAT!

Fresh off his "T-shirt of the day" win over at Future Label I talked to Bryan Sotomayor of the Brooklyn, NY based t-shirt company. Here is how our talk went....
